• The Rays will call up slugging prospect Wil Myers (already 16.2 percent owned) to become their everyday right fielder beginning on Tuesday. Here's an article from the Rays' website that details how the rest of the Rays' lineup will be affected by Myers' arrival; it sounds like Kelly Johnson's playing time will take a hit. Myers was batting .286 with 14 homers and an .858 OPS at Triple A, and is worth a pickup in any format.

• Another big-time prospect, Mets SP Zack Wheeler, will make his big-league debut in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Braves. Wheeler had a 3.93 ERA in 13 starts while pitching home games at the Mets' hitter-friendly Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas, but whiffed 73 batters in 68 2/3 innings and has shown improved control recently. If you're salivating about Wheeler, repeat after me: Most rookie starters encounter bumps in the road. Wheeler is owned in 16.5 percent of FOXSports.com leagues, and is worth a pickup in standard mixed leagues IF a big investment isn't required. If getting him means you need to blow more than, say, 30 percent of your remaining FAAB budget, I'd pass.  In deeper mixed and NL-only formats, go get Wheeler if you can.
• Joaquin Benoit got a four-out save for the Tigers on Sunday, and manager Jim Leyland was very non-committal about his closer plans after the game. In related news, my man Al Alburquerque is still racking up both walks and strikeouts at Triple A.
• Wait a minute ... the Mariners called up catcher Mike Zunino while I was on vacation, and plan to make him their regular catcher? Expect decent power for the remainder of the season, along with a really bad batting average.
• Rays' rotation news: Alex Cobb is on the seven-day concussion DL after getting hit in the head by a line drive on Saturday, and David Price's planned Tuesday rehab start has been delayed due to "soreness." The Rays don't sound alarmed by Price's issue, so you probably shouldn't worry, either.
• Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment today, and could return in two weeks or less if all goes well.
• Brewers OF Ryan Braun (hand) hopes to come off the DL a week from tomorrow.
• Chris Perez's first rehab appearance seemed to go fine on Sunday. If there are no setbacks, he could return to the Indians very soon.
• After some "he's done for the season" worries over the weekend, Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (inflammation in previously injured wrist) will rest for a few days before being re-evaluated. A DL stint is TBD. With Kevin Youkilis (back) on the DL again, the Yankee lineup is a Robinson Cano injury away from being a daily streaming starter target (and we might not even need a Cano injury for that).
• With Brandon Beachy's return delayed, the Braves don't have to make any tough rotation decisions just yet. For good measure, Julio Teheran had another "no effing way you're demoting me" start on Sunday.
• Orioles SP Jason Hammel is day-to-day with a stomach virus. He'll be skipped tonight, and might pitch tomorrow.
• The Red Sox hope to get C/1B Mike Napoli (illness) back on Tuesday, but still might need to place SP Clay Buchholz (neck) on the DL.
• You know that Josh Rutledge is batting second for the Rockies during Troy Tulowitzki's absence, right? Rutledge is a better fantasy player than real player.
• Prediction: Giancarlo Stanton will hit 30 home runs in the Marlins' final 94 games IF he stays healthy.
• The Twins hope to get OF Josh Willingham (knee) back in the lineup on Tuesday.
• If you own Padres SS Everth Cabrera, keep an eye on the news regarding his hamstring injury. We should know more today, but he could end up on the DL.
• Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland (hamstring) is targeting a Friday return from the DL. In other Rangers' news, Jurickson Profar started at third base on Sunday, and might get some time in the outfield. The problem with picking up the talented Profar in a standard mixed league is that the Rangers will try to find a way for him to play on most days, but not every day.

McGuinness over the hot-hitting Jeff Baker? I'm skeptical, but McGuiness is worth a look in AL-only leagues.

• Brad Boxberger got an extra-inning save last night for the Padres, but extra-inning saves can be fluky, and this one was. Nothing to see here, folks. No pickups necessary.
• Another opposite-field homer for Yasiel Puig, huh? This guy has some serious power. As of this morning, Puig is up to 66.5 percent ownership at FOXSports.com, so you may have missed your chance to get him.
• In related news, the Dodgers aren't sure if OF Carl Crawford (hamstring) will be ready to return before the end of June.
• Bryce Harper's knee isn't getting better, and the Nationals are starting to worry. Don't panic if you own Harper, but you might want to break out the rosary beads this weekend if you can find them.
• Reds 2B Brandon Phillips (forearm) is expected to be back in the lineup tonight.
• Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira has three home runs and 10 strikeouts in seven games since coming off the DL. My glass is half-full on this one.

Mark Kotsay played first base for the Pads last night, but the hulking (and underrated) Kyle Blanks appears in line to get most of the at bats while Alonso is out. Check Blanks' availability in your NL-only league, and maybe even in your deep mixed league for a short-term power jolt.
• Look for Astros 2B Jose Altuve (groin) to return to the lineup on Saturday.
• Speaking of the Astros, their selection of Stanford ace Mark Appel with the first pick of last night's draft is a good story, with him being a Houston native and all. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2017 American League West champions ...
• The Marlins are expecting to get Giancarlo Stanton back from the DL on Monday. Hallelujah.
• Rockies OF Dexter Fowler missed his second straight game on Thursday due to a migraine. Hopefully, he'll feel better today.
• Red Sox Will Middlebrooks and Shane Victorino both homered in Thursday rehab appearances, and Middlebrooks could return to Boston as soon as Saturday. There had been some discussion of Middlebrooks staying in the minors until he started to hit better, but he's hitting now. Taking a pitch once in awhile probably wouldn't hurt.

That White Sox-Mariners game yesterday was a crazy one, huh? It reminds me of this game that I attended in 1995 at Candlestick Park. After nobody scored through 14 innings, the Dodgers scored three times in the top of the 15th, and then the Giants scored four runs to win in the bottom of the inning. I think the temperature dropped 30 degrees between the first pitch and the final run crossing home plate.

First pitch: The Rays and Tigers start the AL day at 1:08 p.m. ET, while Mets-Nats kicks off NL action at 7:05.

• Reds SP Johnny Cueto (shoulder) also thinks he'll be back from the DL on June 16. Pedro Villareal started in Cueto's place on Wednesday, and it's possible that Tony Cingrani will get back in the mix.

• The Red Sox seem to think they'll get OF Jacoby Ellsbury (groin) back in the lineup tonight. Teammate Will Middlebrooks is at Triple A for what looked like a rehab assignment, but the Sox are saying that he'll need to play well to come back to Boston.
• White Sox SP Jake Peavy is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured rib. Ouch.
• Reds 2B Brandon Phillips (forearm) is still targeting a Friday return. Teammate Chris Heisey (hamstring) will start a rehab assignment Friday, and plans to return early next week. 
• Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood (triceps) will miss his Saturday start, but the injury isn't considered serious.
• Edwin Encarnacion made his fifth appearance of the season at third base on Wednesday. Congratulations to all those fantasy owners - like me! - who own E5 in a league where he now has extra positional eligibility.
• Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland left Wednesday's game with a tight hamstring. He'll have an MRI today.
• The Padres have reactivated OF Cameron Maybin (wrist) after a 45-game absence.
• Wandy Rodriguez left his Wednesday start after just 14 pitches due to forearm tightness, and his status is TBD.
• Nice game, Cole Hamels. It was the Marlins, though.
• The Brewers placed SP Marco Estrada (hamstring) on the DL.
• The Angels hope to get OF Peter Bourjos back from the DL on Monday. Maybe he can finally start making me look smart for putting him on all my preseason breakout lists.
• You might view Chris Perez's marijuana mess as a potential boon for the fantasy value of Vinnie Pestano. I prefer to see it as moving Cody Allen to within a heartbeat of the Indians' closer job.
• Here's some info on how the Marlins might juggle some positions to accommodate the looming returns of Giancarlo Stanton and Logan Morrison.

Are you worried about the status of Ryan Braun, Gio Gonzalez, Everth Cabrera and other players after Tuesday's news that Biogenesis founder Tony Bosch has agreed to cooperate with Major League Baseball? As FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal notes, there's a difference between "seeking" to suspend those players and actually getting it done based on whatever evidence Bosch may provide. Don't panic yet, and don't trade or waive anyone based on this news.

First pitch: The Pirates and Braves get things going in the National League at 12:10 p.m. ET, while the Yankees and Indians start the AL day at 1:05. There are six afternoon games today, so set your lineups early.

Interleague DH issues: The A's (at Milwaukee) and Blue Jays (at San Francisco) are once again in NL parks. Seth Smith has been a pinch-hitter for the last two nights, and it's unclear if the A's will rest a different outfielder today. The Blue Jays' use of regular DH Adam Lind at first base has Edwin Encarnacion up to four appearances at the hot corner. Depending on your league's eligibility rules, today could bring some nice positional eligibility news for E5's owners.

Streaming starters: Jonathan Pettibone only gave up one run but didn't help in any other way, so we're down to 40-21 for the season. Today's pick is John Lackey (owned in 12.7 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) against the Rangers, while Thursday's selection is Oakland's emerging Dan Straily (7.9 percent owned, two earned runs in his last 19 innings) versus the White Sox in Chicago.

On to the news:

• The Nationals have placed struggling 2B Danny Espinosa on the DL with a broken right wrist - an injury Espinosa has apparently been playing with for awhile, much to the dismay of his fantasy owners. Prospect Anthony Rendon has been called up, presumably to take most of Espinosa's playing time. While Rendon's great eye helps him project as a very good real-life hitter, his modest power and lack of speed won't help fantasy owners too much right now. Beyond NL-only leagues, I wouldn't get too excited.
• Dodgers rookie Yasiel Puig (35.4 percent owned) had two homers and five RBI last night. Not bad, kid.

• Wednesday's Jays-Giants game featured strong starts by both Josh Johnson and Tim Lincecum. Unfortunately, Lincecum is either really good or really bad, and the overall line isn't worth your time any more.
• Been waiting on Diamondbacks SP Daniel Hudson? He left a Tuesday rehab start due to elbow stiffness. Stay tuned.
• Check out these quotes from Braves' manager Fredi Gonzalez about his difficulties finding playing time for Evan Gattis. Gattis has done a find job so far, but unless someone else gets hurt or B.J. Upton gets even worse, Gattis will be the odd man out on most days. The same Atlanta Journal Constitution notebook reports that the Braves are targeting a June 18 return for SP Brandon Beachy.
• Orioles OF Nick Markakis will miss games on Wednesday and Thursday while attending his grandmother's funeral.
• Potential Red Sox returns could happen tonight for OF Jacoby Ellsbury, and Saturday for 3B Will Middlebrooks.

• Remember when you had high hopes for Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks? He's now on the short side of a platoon with rookie Scooter Gennett, and can be cut in redraft leagues. Gennett was batting .297 with eight stolen bases at Triple A, and might be useful in NL-only leagues.
• Nine homers in your last 10 games, Domonic Brown? When we told everyone to pick you up, we didn't think you'd make us look THAT smart.
• Nationals OF Jayson Werth returns tonight from a month-long DL stint. Werth is owned in just 20 percent of FOXSports.com leagues; I'm still a believer.
• Here's an update on the slow recovery of Tigers OF Austin Jackson (hamstring). Sorry, but it doesn't tell us when he'll be back.
• Cardinals C Yadier Molina is appealing a one-game suspension for making contact with an umpire, but keep a close eye on his status if you own him, because he could drop or lose the appeal at any time.
• The Mariners expect to have OF Mike Morse (quad) back in the lineup by midweek.
• Padres OF Carlos Quentin missed Monday's game with a sore shoulder, but hopes to play tonight.
• Brewers SP Marco Estrada left last night's game with a strained hamstring, and might miss a start. On the brighter side for the Brew Crew, closer Jim Henderson is targeting a Sunday return from the DL.
• Look for Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez to return to the lineup tonight. Unfortunately for the disappointing Dodgers, OF Carl Crawford is now on the DL with a hamstring strain.
• Justin Maxwell will reclaim his center-field role for the Astros when he comes off the DL, probably within the week. J.D. Martinez will play left field, while Jimmy Paredes and Brandon Barnes "vie for right field," according to the Houston Chronicle. I'll take Barnes in that battle.
• Attention, prospect watchers: Orioles SP Dylan Bundy, who hasn't pitched this season due to forearm issues, has been cleared to resume throwing.
• The Diamondbacks will call up SP Tyler Skaggs (5.23 ERA but 54K/17BB in 51 2/3 IP at Triple A) to take Brandon McCarthy's rotation slot tonight. You can think about the 21-year-old Skaggs in NL-only and deeper mixed formats, but not standard mixed leagues. To repeat a Halpin cliche about very young starters, bumps in the road are likely.
• The Brewers plan to use newly-acquired Juan Francisco at first base.

Today's pick is Seattle's Joe Saunders (owned in 1.3 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) against the White Sox, while Tuesday's selection is Philly's Jonathan Pettibone (3.9 percent owned) versus the Marlins. Saunders isn't a favorite around here, but his home ERA is 2.41 (9.00 on the road), and the White Sox have scored the fewest runs in the American League.

On to the news:

• The Dodgers have called up prized prospect Yasiel Puig to bolster their Matt Kemp-less outfield. Puig was batting .313 with eight homers, 13 steals and a .982 OPS at Double A, and numbers like that make you want to run over hot coals to get a guy off the free-agent wire. However, Ken Rosenthal talked to MLB executives who think Puig's game might have some holes, and we don't yet know if Puig will stick around after Kemp returns from the DL. Can you grab Puig in a standard mixed league if you don't have to throw a productive player overboard? Sure, but keep your expectations in check. 
• In other Dodger news, catcher A.J. Ellis (oblique) is on the DL, Hyun-Jin Ryu was scratched Sunday due to a bruised foot (he should be fine for his next start), and SS Hanley Ramirez could be activated from the DL any day. I'd feel comfortable starting Ramirez in a weekly lineup league, as he'll probably be back by Tuesday.
• In Nats' injury news, Stephen Strasburg's status for his next start is uncertain due to a lat strain, but the bet here is that he'll go on the DL. Bryce Harper (knee) is already on the DL, and the Nats' website reports that he'll be shut down for the next 10 days.
• Andy Pettitte comes off the DL to start tonight for the Yankees. Josh Johnson does the same on Tuesday for the Blue Jays, and ditto for Alexi Ogandoon Wednesday for the Rangers.
• White Sox 2B Gordon Beckhamcomes off the DL tonight. Remember when that news would have been exciting?
• You keep hitting, Jurickson Profar. I want to see a controversy when Ian Kinsler returns.
• A hamstring issue is expected to keep Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre out until Thursday.
• Luke Gregerson got his first save of the season on Saturday, and will close for the Padres while Huston Street (calf) is on the DL. Gregerson is available in 97.3 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.
• Rex Brotherswill close for the Rockies while Rafael Betancourt (groin) is on the DL. Brothers is available in 97.1 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.
• The Red Sox aren't sure when Shane Victorino (hamstring) will return to their lineup, but they should have Jacoby Ellsbury (groin) on Tuesday.

Teixeira will probably hit 15-20 home runs over the remainder of the season, with solid totals in runs and RBI, but there's some risk, and he's not an elite hitter any more. However, he's available in 27.7 percent of FOXSports.com leagues, and worth a pickup if available.
• As feared, Dodgers OF Matt Kemp has landed on the DL with a hamstring injury. Kemp and the Dodgers seem to think he'll be back when his 15 days are up.

• The Dodgers should know more today about Matt Kemp's hamstring injury. A DL stint seems possible - keep your fingers crossed.
• Clay Buchholz's next start has been delayed until Sunday at the earliest. I still kind of believe the Red Sox when they say they're just being cautious here.
• Casey Janssen got a save Wednesday for the Blue Jays. Hopefully, we won't hear about his shoulder issues anymore.
• Remember when Kyuji Fujikawa looked like such a good bet as the Cubs' closer? He's going to have Tommy John surgery. The sea has once again parted for Kevin Gregg.
• Last night was the third uneventful outing in a row for Rays' closer Fernando Rodney. All three were against the Marlins, though. Don't expect Rodney to be available tonight.
• Nationals manager Davey Johnson, on Bryce Harper's status for this weekend's series against the Braves: "I don't have a lot of high hopes, but I'm hopeful." Um, OK.
• Tigers OF Torii Hunter is iffy for tonight's game after getting hit in the elbow by a pitch on Wednesday.
• See you on Friday, Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis.
• Braves SP Kris Medlen left Wednesday's start after getting hit in the calf by a line drive. We should know more about his status today or tomorrow.
• Here's a story on the Astros trying to establish a regular lineup. It might not be a good lineup, but it hopes to be regular. Brandon Barnes appears to be in line for increased playing time.
• Tommy Hanson will return to the Angels' rotation on Friday.
• Psst ... Twins OF Aaron Hicks has six home runs with a .733 OPS in May. He's not great, but he's getting better.
• Mets SS Ruben Tejada injured a quad muscle on Wednesday, so now he might go to the DL instead of the minors.
• After last night's two-hit game, Mets 1B Ike Davis is batting .160 with four home runs and a .487 OPS. Through the end of May last year, Davis hit .169 with five homers and a .541 OPS, and finished the season with 32 homers. Sure, his strikeout rate is a little higher this season. Are you sure you don't want to give him one more chance, as long as the Mets do?
• A's OF Josh Reddick is expected to come off the DL on Friday.
• Is tonight the night that Pirates SP Jeff Locke (5-1, 2.45 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) starts coming back to Earth? Against the Tigers, I'm gonna say yes.
• Giants OF Angel Pagan will receive a cortisone shot to help his injured hamstring. Look for him to miss a couple more games.
• It sounds like Mariners OF Michael Morse won't be back in the lineup until sometime this weekend.
• As expected, Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie (ankle) has been placed on the DL. Teammate Brandon Morrow (forearm) expects to make his next start, but don't write that in ink just yet.

First pitch: The White Sox and Cubs have a 2:20 p.m. ET start at Wrigley.

Interleague DH issues: The White Sox, Red Sox, Tigers, Rays, Blue Jays, Royals, Mariners and A's all lose their DHs today and tomorrow. The Red Sox will use David Ortiz at first base in one of their Philly games, and Mike Napoli in the other, but they haven't said who will play which game. Otherwise, the biggest names likely to lose playing time today are Eric Hosmer and Paul Konerko.

Streaming starters: Jordan Lyles' latest strong outing raised our record to 37-18 for the season. Today's pick is Justin Grimm (owned in 5.5 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) against the Diamondbacks, while Thursday's choice is San Diego's Andrew Cashner (18.2 percent owned) versus the terrible Mariners.

On to the news:

• More bad news from Toronto. Brandon Morrow left last night's start with forearm soreness, and his status is TBD. 3B Brett Lawrie might be headed for the DL with a sprained ankle. Closer Casey Janssen has been bothered by a sore shoulder, and hasn't pitched in a week. Oh, and in case you haven't heard, the city's mayor was allegedly caught on video smoking crack. Otherwise, Toronto is a great city, and I highly recommend visiting it.

• It looks like Nationals OF Bryce Harper (knee) will be out until at least Friday. Harper's teammate, SP Ross Detwiler, will miss another start due to an oblique injury.
• The Red Sox have recalled Jackie Bradley Jr., but will use him as an "extra outfielder." He could be headed back to the minors when Shane Victorino's hamstring injury gets better.
• Jason Grilli has 21 saves. I mean ...
• The Rays will probably call up Chris Archer (3.96 ERA, 52 K in 50 IP at Triple A) to pitch on Saturday. In other Rays' prospect news, OF Wil Myers homered twice last night, and has six homers with 15 RBI in his last six games. It looks like Myers has righted the ship after some early-season struggles, and a June callup is probably in the cards.
• Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez might begin a rehab assignment on Thursday. If that's the case, he could return from the DL as soon as Sunday or Monday.
• As noted here earlier this week, 21-year-old Michael Wacha is listed as the Cardinals' probable Thursday starter. Wacha's 2.05 ERA at Triple A is accompanied by a low strikeout rate (34 K in 52 2/3 IP), so be careful. Beyond NL-only or keeper leagues, I think I'd stay away.
• It doesn't always happen right away, eh, Kevin Gausman?
• Reminder: It's Jered Weaver night in Anaheim.
• Ryan Braun's sore thumb could have him sit at any time. If you own Braun in a daily league, watch the Brewers' lineups closely.
• Twins 3B Trevor Plouffe comes off the seven-day concussion DL today, but might not be in the lineup right away.
• Giants OF Angel Pagan is day-to-day with a strained hamstring. He didn't play on Tuesday.
• Mariners 1B Justin Smoak (oblique) hasn't played since Saturday, and his return date is TBD.

First pitch: The Braves and Blue Jays get started at the weird Canadian time of 12:37 p.m; that's one of two afternoon games on the schedule.

Interleague DH issues: The Orioles, Indians, Yankees, Twins and Angels lose their designated hitters in NL parks today. The O's played Steve Pearce in left field against lefty Gio Gonzalez on Monday, but figure to get Nate McLouth back in there tonight.

Streaming starters: Jose Quintana actually met our Fantasy Quality Start criteria (any two of 4.00 ERA/1.30 WHIP/4 K/Win) last night, so we're up to 36-18 for the season. Today's pick is Houston's Jordan Lyles (owned in 0.2 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) against the Rockies, while Wednesday's selection is Rangers' righty Justin Grimm (4.7 percent owned) versus the Diamondbacks.

On to the news:

• With closer Chris Perez (shoulder) on the DL, Vinnie Pestano (2.3 percent owned) will take over closing duties for the Indians. Pestano has been struggling since coming off the DL less than two weeks ago, but even a risky closer is worth a speculative add as long as the investment isn't too great. Joe Smith and/or Cody Allen figure to be next in line if Pestano implodes soon.

• The Padres will activate Yasmani Grandal today, now that the catcher's 50-game PED suspension is over. The team's website says that it's "unclear how the Padres will use Grandal," he figures to start as the short side of a platoon with Nick Hundley, and gradually grab more playing time due to his strong bat. I would strongly consider picking up Grandal in a two-catcher league.
• The Mariners have made a change at second base, demoting Dustin Ackley and promoting prospect Nick Franklin. The 22-year-old Franklin was batting .324 at Triple A with four homers, seven stolen bases and a .912 OPS. He can hit, and should be considered in AL-only or deep mixed formats.
• Brewers OF Ryan Braun missed Monday's game with a sore right thumb, and his chances of returning tonight are up in the air.
• After once again proving the old adage that you can't steal first base, Dodgers SS Dee Gordon has been sent back to the minors. The Dodgers will use Nick Punto and Luis Cruz at short until Hanley Ramirez returns, which could happen as soon as next week.
• In other Dodger news, Josh Beckett - who is already on the DL with a groin injury - will have an MRI today to determine the cause of numbness in his fingers. Beckett isn't worth waiting for in standard mixed leagues.
• OF Bryce Harper (knee) and Danny Espinosa (wrist) both hope to return to the Nationals' lineup on Wednesday, but Harper's best chance of doing so will be as a DH.
• Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie is day-to-day with an ankle injury.
• The Yankees could get 1B Mark Teixeira and 1B/3B Kevin Youkilis back as soon as this weekend, which begs a question I never thought I'd ask: What are they going to do with Lyle Overbay? Also, can they quickly teach David Adams to play shortstop? Three days of ground balls should be plenty for Adams to be an overall improvement in Jayson Nix, right?
• Missed this one yesterday: Royals C Salvador Perez could miss another few days while on bereavement leave.
• The Astros have sent OF Robbie Grossman to Triple A. The team's website reports than Brandon Barnes might get more playing time as a result of that move.
• My man Jason Hammel might be coming around. That's two good starts in a row.
