Elite 5-star recruit makes strong statement about his interest in the Tennessee Vols
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

One of the Tennessee Vols' top remaining 2025 recruiting targets is five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham.

Cunningham, 6-foot-3/180 lbs from Ackerman, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi. He's also rated as the No. 12 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

According to On3, Cunningham has four official visits scheduled for later this spring/summer.

The talented wide receiver will take official visits to Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Cunningham, who took an unofficial visit to Tennessee in early April, isn't planning on committing until "close to National Signing Day".

This is a recruiting battle that's going to continue through the summer and into the fall. And that should be viewed as a good thing for Tennessee because it will give the Vols another season to show what they can do with elite wide receivers when there's an elite quarterback (Nico Iamaleava) under center.

As for Cunningham's interest in Tennessee, he told On3 earlier this month that the Vols "stand high" on his list.

“They definitely stand high,” said Cunningham. “They have always stood high...They have great everything. They have a good quarterback room. It is a great place. Why not come here?”

Tennessee is consistently in the mix for some of the nation's best wide receivers. And they're winning their fair share of those battles, too (Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley, for example). The Vols are absolutely a major threat to land Cunningham.
