15 totally iconic TV cameos

In this series packed with appearances from celebrities like Will Ferrell and Ricky Gervais, the most iconic cameo from "The Office" is actually from Conan O'Brien. Blink and you'll miss it, but bumbling boss Michael Scott spots O'Brien on the streets of New York in the show's second season. 

Pop icon Taylor Swift makes an appearance in the finale of "The New Girl," season two. We'll skip the spoilers, but suffice it to say that watching Taylor Swift serve as the objectioner at a wedding is pretty darn hilarious.

Britney Spears has made plenty of television appearances, but perhaps none as memorable as the time she played a misunderstood love interest in the show's third season. 

Winona Ryder's appearance on this iconic NBC sitcom in 1997 made for seriously juicy television. We won't give away the big reveal, but the episode's title is probably a spoiler: "The One With Rachel's Big Kiss." 

Anyone who's watched "Parks and Recreation" knows just how much Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is obsessed with now-President Joe Biden. The then-VP makes a truly iconic cameo in two episodes of the show's fifth season in one of its most (no spoilers!) romantic moments. 

"Star Wars" enthusiasts everywhere rejoiced when Princess Leia herself, also known as Carrie Fisher, made an appearance "The Big Bang Theory." The episode also features a cameo from James Earl Jones, who voiced Darth Vader in the iconic movie trilogy, making it a match made in nerd heaven. 

It's not usual that the First Lady of the United States appears on a tween program, but Michelle Obama made it happen in 2012 when she appeared on an episode of the show's fourth season as part of an initiative to support military families. 

In a show positively packed with celebrity cameos, pop star Ed Sheeran perhaps made the most iconic in "Game of Thrones's" eighth season. Fans thought that his mere presence was a spoiler of sorts, inspiring a minor controversy. 

This long-running crime procedural has featured guest appearances from a slew of celebrities, none more exciting than tennis legend Serena Williams, who briefly appears as a victim of revenge pōrn in the show's 12th season. 

Okay, it may seem over-the-top for "The New Girl" to have two spots on this list, but there's no denying that convincing Prince to show up on your series is nothing short of iconic. Not to be outdone by some football game, the Purple One's appearance followed the 2014 Super Bowl.
