Bette Midler will introduce herself as Winifred Sanderson to a brand new generation when Hocus Pocus 2 lands on Disney Plus in Fall 2022, and the Oscar-nominated actress couldn't contain her excitement Thursday:

Deadline's Anthony D'Alessandro relayed that Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will all return as the Sanderson sisters for the sequel to 1993's Hocus Pocus.
SJP and Najimy shared to social media, too:
"Back in October, during the pandemic, Disney re-released the movie to notable results in the marketplace, seeing close to $5M from a handful of theaters, this despite the fact that the movie was also airing on TV at the same time," D'Alessandro wrote, adding: "In Hocus Pocus 2, three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world."
Hocus Pocus was directed by Kenny Ortega, but the second film will be directed by Anne Fletcher because Adam Shankman is too busy directing Disenchanted, yet another sequel slated for Disney Plus.
