Chris Hemsworth made a surprise reveal in a new interview with Vanity Fair about his experience making Thor: Love and Thunder, the last live-action Marvel film he appeared in.

Hemsworth shared that he wasn't particularly happy with his work in the film, saying, "I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself".

Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, follows Hemsworth as Thor as he enlists the help of Valkyrie, Korg and Jane Foster in a battle against Gorr the God Butcher.

"I didn't stick the landing," Hemsworth told Vanity Fair.

Thor: Love and Thunder wasn't the only time that Hemsworth questioned his iconic role. He revealed to Vanity Fair that he sometimes "felt like a security guard for the team" and said reading everyone else's lines in a script had him wondering, "Oh, they got way cooler stuff. They're having more fun. What's my character doing?".

"I'm part of this big thing," Hemsworth said, "but I'm probably pretty replaceable".

Hemsworth's co-stars had nothing but praise for him, however. "Hemsworth is, in my opinion, the most complex psyche out of all us Avengers. He's got wit and gravitas, but also such restraint, fire, and gentleness," said Robert Downey Jr.

Cate Blanchett, who shared the screen with Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok, said, "He sets the tone on set—everyone is valued. Everyone is welcome. I adore and admire him deeply."

Hemsworth has two projects hitting the big screen this year, the first of which being Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, which premieres this month at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The film serves as an origin story for Charlize Theron's character of Furiosa from George Miller's Mad Max series, with Anya Taylor-Joy starring as Furiosa. Hemsworth joins the cast as Dr. Dementus.

The second film he has hitting theaters is Transformers One, another origin story which tells the untold tale of Optimus Prime and Megatron. It lands in theaters on September 20.
