Chris Pratt blown away by his wife's pandemic pregnancy: 'She's my hero'

Chris Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in June 2019, and while the first year of every marriage is supposed to be exciting and honeymoon-y, these two had a pandemic to contend with.

Not only that, but Schwarzenegger had to navigate her pregnancy during COVID times.

"It's really tricky," Pratt said on Thursday's Ellen. "Katherine, my wife, got pregnant just before the pandemic struck, did the full pregnancy, and gave birth in a pandemic. And I'm telling you, man, that is not easy for any new moms who had to go through that and do that. It's tough."

The 41-year-old actor continued: "You can't bring anyone to any of these doctor's appointments. You go in to give birth to your baby, they're like, 'Do you have your mask?' It's hard, you know. It's made everything a lot harder, but especially, I think, childbirth and pregnancy. ... But man, she handled it so well. She never missed a beat. She's my hero."

The couple announced the birth of Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt last August—their first child together:

Earlier this month, Schwarzenegger similarly gushed over Pratt as a "girl dad" and "the best husband" on The Drew Barrymore Show:

Pratt was previously married to actress Anna Faris from 2009-17, and they share an eight-year-old son named Jack.
