Celine Song captured hearts globally with her debut film Past Lives, about two childhood sweethearts who reconnect at different points in their lives.

Now, after being nominated for her first Oscar at this year's Academy Awards, Song is gearing up for her sophomore effort: Materialists.

It is said to be a rom-com about a matchmaker's lucrative business that gets complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients.

Materialists will be produced by those behind Past Lives, Killer Films' Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler and 2AM's David Hinojosa.

Some whispers of potential cast members are floating around social media, including rumors that Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal will make up the trio in the film.

Little more is known about the project, but it is said that production could get underway as early as this spring.

With the success of Past Lives, people are eagerly anticipating what's next for Song and with Materialists being a shift from drama to rom-com, it will be exciting to see this new director exercise a different muscle.
