Francis Ford Coppola has been working for decades on his new movie, Megalopolis, and has finally shared a first look on his Instagram.

Coppola joined the social media site in May 2023, and in his first post, he said he wanted to share the "journey in making the most interesting film of [his] career @megalopolisfilm".

Now, he brings the first look to fans, who have been eagerly anticipating what's in store from the auteur.

Featuring an all-star cast, Megalopolis follows an architect who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia following a devastating disaster.

Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kathryn Hunter, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman, Giancarlo Esposito, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Chloe Fineman and James Remar join the ensemble cast.

Megalopolis wrapped in March 2023, and while there is currently no official release date, Coppola told The Accutron Show, "It's only going to be a few months and it'll be out". This has people speculating about a Cannes premiere.

The five-time Oscar winner is using $120 million of his own money to fund his passion project that he first began writing in the '80s. It will be his first film in almost eight years.

The Hollywood Reporter shared that Coppola said, "There's a certain way everyone thinks a film should be, and it rubs against the grain if you have another idea. People can be very unaccepting, but sometimes the other idea represents what's coming in the future. That is worthy of being considered."
