Hank Azaria launching 10-episode 'Brockmire' podcast with former ESPNers

When The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz departed ESPN in early January, there was a cloud of uncertainty hovering above it.

The future got a little clearer when it was reported later in January that former ESPN president and DAZN executive John Skipper joined forces with Le Batard to form Meadowlark Media.  Things got even more clear Wednesday with the first Meadlowlark collaboration coming to light:

Hank Azaria has been a friend of the show for a while—often impersonating his titular Brockmire character in interviews and comedy bits:

Brockmire debuted on IFC in 2017. The hilarious plot centers around disgraced and inappropriately raunchy Major League Baseball announcer Jim Brockmire, played by Azaria. The series, created by Joel Church-Cooper, ended with Season 4 airing last year.

Fans of the show will be thrilled to hear Azaria reprise the character with co-host under the "Le Batard & Friends" umbrella.

Le Batard offered a statement on the news (h/t The Hollywood Reporter): "I honestly can't believe we get to add someone with Hank Azaria's credentials to our stable of stupidity. He's the voice actor for our generation on The Simpsons, an impossibly funny actor and, best of all, our friend. I can't wait for Brockmire, soaked in booze and drugs, to urinate on every single sacred thing in sports. Hank, Sheena and Dave are going to cook up something special… I just hope it's not meth."

Long before Brockmire, Azaria solidified his status in Hollywood with voiceover roles for numerous characters in The Simpsons and Family Guy as well as countless notable acting roles across three decades. The 56-year-old has won six Primetime Emmys.
