Walt Disney Studios' CinemaCon panel was the place to be last night as the studio unveiled exclusive first previews of many of their upcoming films for 2024.

One of the most anticipated of those, from their Pixar branch, is the long-awaited sequel to their 2015 film Inside Out.

Inside Out 2 will follow the same character, Riley, who is now facing the terrible teenage years with some brand new emotions wreaking havoc in her mind.

Fans in attendance got to see the first 35 minutes of the upcoming film ahead of its June 14 release date.

Amy Poehler introduced the panel, saying, "There was not even a millisecond of pause when they asked me to return for Inside Out 2".

Poehler said, "This new story captures the beauty and the hilarity of every emotion we all experience on a daily basis, and it is guaranteed to make you laugh, and cry, and everything in between".

Discussing Film shared a detailed breakdown of what followed.

They revealed that the sequel begins with Riley heading out to her hockey game with all the familiar emotions helping her to be the best she can be.

She experiences all the highs and lows of playing the game, and there is even a new addition: "beliefs", which have been described by Discussing Film as "contributing to her self-growth" "stored at the bottom of her subconscious where the forgotten memories previously were".

Riley then attends a weekend away at a hockey camp where rumblings of the new emotions begin.

From there, we see how puberty impacts the harmony of Riley's mind, with Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment turning up to upset the balance that Joy and the gang have worked on for years.

People present at the panel shared their first reactions, saying that "Inside Out 2 will not disappoint" and it "looks like the best Pixar movie in about a decade".

The rest of us will have to wait until June 14 to see what's next for Riley.
