Jennifer Lawrence jokes she 'never felt fatter and older' than in 'Don't Look Up' scene with Timothée Chalamet

Jennifer Lawrence is just as self-deprecating, lovable and relatable as ever.

Vanity Fair profiled the Oscar-winning actress, who discussed the boundaries she's setting for her unborn first child and her private life with husband Cooke Maroney. In the piece are new details about Adam McKay's sci-fi dramedy Don't Look Up, including how Lawrence felt about one particular scene with Timothée Chalamet.

As explained by author Karen Valby, the scene finds astronomer Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence) making out with a "street punk" named Yule (Chalamet) while hiding out at her parents' house because the world won't take her or Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio)'s findings seriously about a catastrophic comet.

"It would have been a lot more enjoyable if you weren’t seeing your aging self next to a 17-year-old in a two-shot who weighs 100 pounds soaking wet," Lawrence joked about kissing Chalamet in the movie. "I’ve never felt fatter and older in my life."

Elsewhere in the profile, Valby details that Lawrence has dreamed of working with McKay since she was 19 years old "because she was obsessed with his Will Ferrell comedies" and was worried about bothering Meryl Streep on the set of Don't Look Up.

"My biggest concern was I did not want to annoy Meryl Streep," Lawrence said. "That’s my worst nightmare. So, I will only speak if spoken to, and I will be the least annoying person in the room."

“She just kept saying, ‘I’m going to be quiet. I won’t speak,’" McKay added. "Meryl Streep shows up and Jen comes over to me like she’s a 12-year-old and is like, ‘What do I say? What do I do?’"

But it was a non-issue as soon as Streep broke the ice by showing Lawrence houses listed on Zillow.
