Jerry Seinfeld on 'Seinfeld' reunion rumors: 'I don't know what we would do that would be good'

Jerry Seinfeld was in attendance at Citi Field for the New York Mets' 3-2 loss to the visiting Miami Marlins on Wednesday night, and he couldn't hide from rumors of a "Seinfeld" reunion.

According to People, the 67-year-old actor, comedian and all-around legend insisted to reporters that "there's absolutely nothing going on" on the reunion front despite all nine seasons of Seinfeld hitting Netflix on Friday.

"I am very much a nostalgia person," Seinfeld continued. "I love to go to my house where I grew up on Long Island. It's one of the reasons I love the Mets because I loved it when I was a kid, and it makes me think back to that time. But I like to go forward in life. I believe that going forward. I don't know what we would do that would be good."

Seinfeld has touched on why he is so adamant about leaving Seinfeld in the past before, including in May 2020 with Howard Stern.

"I remember I was in a cab one time, and the cab driver said to me, 'Why did you stop doing that show? It was very successful,'" Seinfeld added to reporters Wednesday. "And I said to him, 'Well, I was at a point, we had done it for nine years, and I realized I could go off the air right now, and I could be a legend in the sitcom world, or I could make some more money. I could risk that to make some more money.'"

While at Citi Field, Seinfeld hopped in the broadcast booth during the fourth inning.

"Seinfeld," created by Jerry and Larry David, originally ran from 1989 to 1998 on NBC. Also starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards, the sitcom won 10 Primetime Emmys.

Netflix bought the rights to Seinfeld through a five-year deal with Sony Pictures Television in September 2019, and the series was dumped from Hulu on June 23. Watch its Netflix teaser below.
