Kim Kardashian 'freaking out' after learning her family inspired one 'Bridgerton' family

The Kardashians (and the Kardashian-Jenner clan at large) have been inescapable since Keeping Up With The Kardashians debuted in 2007, inspiring at least 11 spinoffs and innumerable pop culture repercussions, but Kim Kardashian still never expected their reach to extend back to 1813.

"As the world’s number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings?" tweeted Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in the Netflix hit series. "Because I feel like she should know this."

Kardashian did not, in fact, know this and subsequently spazzed out:

"Omg yesss of course we would love to have you!" Coughlan tweeted in response to Kardashian's request. "Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!"

Bridgerton debuted last Christmas Day. The period drama was inspired by Julia Quinn's novel series and became one of Netflix's biggest series ever. It serves as the first original scripted series from a partnership with Shonda Rhimas, an executive producer on the show, and Shondaland that formed in 2017.

Bridgerton was renewed for Season 2 in January, then renewed for two additional seasons earlier this month:

If Kardashian truly does have a Bridgerton group chat, then she is aware that perhaps the largest story surrounding the upcoming sophomore season is that the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) will be left behind in Season 1.
