Lisa Kudrow took a quiz to see which 'Friend' friend she is, and her result wasn't Phoebe

It's May 2021, and Friends is everywhere despite ending its 10-season run in May 2004.

This generation has fallen head over heels with the six-time Emmy-winning series because of its availability to stream first on Netflix and now on HBO Max, but the primary reason for its current renaissance is the upcoming Friends: The Reunion special dropping May 27 on HBO Max.

All of this is to set up Lisa Kudrow's appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night, where she admitted to previously taking Buzzfeed's "Which Friends Character Are You?" quiz and getting Rachel instead of Phoebe.

"When I first read the script, and I was going to be auditioning for Phoebe, I saw Rachel, and I just went, 'Oh! That's like a Long Island [inaudible], that could be hilarious; I can identify with that more,'" Kudrow explained, after disputing her results.

Kudrow played the whimsically wonderful and quirky Phoebe Buffay, while Rachel Green was played by Jennifer Aniston. The iconic cast was rounded out by Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.

The official trailer for Friends: The Reunion was unveiled earlier this week, as was their People cover:

Kudrow also discussed other aspects of her career, including her upcoming Fox animated series Housebroken that will debut May 31, and her unlikely friendship with Diane Keaton.

The 57-year-old Emmy winner begins discussing Friends around the three-minute, 55-second mark. Watch below.
