Mandy Moore says it will 'be really, really hard to let go' of 'This Is Us'

Today (Jan. 25) is a big day in Mandy Moore's world, as the next episode of This Is Us' sixth and final season will air and the 20th anniversary of A Walk to Remember is recognized.

The 37-year-old actress and singer opened up to People about both things, noting that A Walk to Remember turning 20 "makes me feel really old," and even though so many years have passed, "There's so much of the feelings of making that movie and being on that set that are still so accessible."

"The idea that I won't see these faces every day and we won't tell these stories, it's going to be so hard to not be able to step into those shoes anymore and to be on those sets and have this material," Moore said about This Is Us ending. "It's like, I get excited each and every time a new script comes out and to sort of dig in as a fan of like, 'Okay, what's unfolding now?' It's going to be really, really hard to let go."

This Is Us premiered its final season Jan. 4, and Moore is not the only member of its acclaimed ensemble cast to voice how much they are dreading having to walk away from the smash NBC drama. In fact, Moore's television husband Milo Ventimiglia echoed Moore's above sentiment on Monday's Late Night with Seth Meyers:

"I'm sure those last moments, everyone's gonna be in tears," Ventimiglia told Meyers. "Everyone's gonna be crying—us in production. The audience, I think we've established the audience will be crying. But us in production, I have a feeling that we'll be emotional. We'll have a hard time letting go."

Created by Dan Fogelman, This Is Us premiered in September 2016.

Moore and Ventimiglia play Rebecca Pearson and Jack Pearson, respectively. For die-hard fans, they have set the new standard for television couples. The Pearson family is rounded out their children, "The Big Three," played by Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley and Sterling K. Brown.

The series jumps back and forth from the past, present and future to chart universal themes of the human experience.

Jon Huertas, Chris Sullivan and Susan Kelechi Watson also star.

This Is Us airs new episodes every Tuesday beginning at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
