Hannah Montana debuted 15 years ago today—March 24, 2006—and ran for four seasons until its "Wherever I Go" series finale on Jan. 16, 2011. To celebrate the anniversary, Cyrus shared an open letter:

Conspiracy theorists will be interested to know that the Hannah Montana Twitter account was just created this month.
In the series, Cyrus played normal teenager Miley Stewart by day and pop sensation Hannah Montana by night. Her iconic blonde wig allowed for her to live a double life. Billy Ray Cyrus played her TV dad, Robby Ray Stewart.

In 2009, a full-length theatrical film Hannah Montana: The Movie was released. which featured a very importany cameo by Taylor Swift:
The television series ended with Miley turning down an offer to star in a Steven Spielberg movie with Tom Cruise to instead be her best friend Lilly's (Emily Osment) roommate at college.
In real life, Cyrus has unequivocally chosen the rockstar lifestyle. Since Hannah Montana, the 28-year-old has released banger after banger—as well as an entire album titled Bangerz—and most recently dropped her seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts, last November.
