The best sitcom episodes of the 2000s

There have been many iconic South Park episodes from the very beginning in 1997 all the way to the present, but "Casa Bonita" stands the test of time. I would have never heard of Casa Bonita if it weren't for the show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, so it's only right that they are the new owners of the Colorado restaurant.

"Pier Pressure" has made a lot of "best of" lists, so of course, it deserves a spot right here. The lesson of not teaching your kids a lesson made the show that much more hilarious and is a solid go-to for favorite Arrested Development episodes.

It's been too long since it aired for this to be considered a spoiler, so as a disclaimer, this episode is kind of sad, but its message of acceptance makes it a great one. "My Screw Up" is the third and final episode featuring Brendan Fraser and is arguably one of his best TV roles.

Friends was obviously incredibly popular in the nineties and early 2000s, so their farewell episode was understandably a huge deal. Even watching the series years later on streaming, I got a little choked up.

Fans of The Office know exactly why "Casino Night" is considered one of the greats. It was the first episode Steve Carell wrote for the series and a wonderful way to end season two.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's Extras is wildly underrated, if you ask me, and the "Daniel Radcliffe" episode has to be one of the best. During the height of his popularity in the Harry Potter films, Daniel sheds his good-guy persona, attempting to get with any and all of the women on set.

"Slap Bet" is amazing for two reasons: the introduction of "Robin Sparkles" and the beginning of, well, the slap bet. The episode gave us the ever-so-catchy "Let's Go To The Mall" that is irresistible to sing when going to the mall.

Flight of the Conchords is another underrated series that follows fictionalized versions of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement and their band of the same name. The episode gave us the song "Inner City Pressure," which is easily relatable for anyone struggling to live in the city.

"The Work Outing" is filled with misunderstanding after misunderstanding, creating one hilarious piece of television. What was supposed to be a date between Jen and a new boyfriend quickly turns into a group outing to the theater when Roy (Chris O'Dowd) and Moss (Richard Ayoade) tag along, ultimately getting them into all kinds of shenanigans.

"Rosemary's Baby" was easily one of the best episodes of TV in 2007 and still holds up. For one, Carrie Fisher guest stars, adding the ultimate Star Wars reference to the list of many for 30 Rock with the line, "Help me, Liz Lemon! You're my only hope!"

The season four finale, titled "The Nightman Cometh," was derived from Charlie and Dennis' song "Dayman" from season three, and thank goodness for that. The gang's rock opera is not only one of the best of the 2000s but of all time.

Community's "Introduction to Statistics" was one of the stronger episodes of the first season, showcasing the entire cast's individual talents and storylines. Abed as Batman was also pretty great.

The last episode in season one of Parks and Recreation was a defining moment because audiences could finally see the potential for the show's success. Although there are certainly better episodes in the series, "Rock Show" was the best of the season by far. Also, Andy's song "The Pit" made us fall in love with his band, Mouse Rat.

The season seven finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm was the closest we'll ever get to a Seinfeld reunion, which automatically makes it one of the best. From Larry trying to play George to his feud with Mocha Joe and having strong opinions on people not respecting wood, "Seinfeld" is a classic Curb episode that deserves to be revisited every so often.

"Fizbo" was essentially a turning point for Modern Family, most likely due to the structure of the episode, where it started with someone being in the hospital and telling the story as to who it is and how they got there through flashbacks. It also earned Eric Stonestreet a Primetime Emmy.
