Tom Holland is happy he doesn't have to lie about 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' anymore

"No one believes me, but they’re not in the film," Holland said for his GQ "Man of the Year" cover story last month, insisting yet again that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would not be reprising their Peter Parker roles for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Everyone had reason to not believe him, it turns out, as Garfield and Maguire do appear.

"We've been sitting on these secrets for two years, and honestly, we're all so tired of lying," Holland said of all the jaw-dropping No Way Home plot points while making a joint appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show with costars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.

In Holland's defense, he wasn't the only one lying.

Garfield, who has been promoting his roles in The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Tick, Tick... BOOM! this year, also denied he was putting back on the Spidey suit for the first time since 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on too many occasions to count—including this one from earlier this month:

No Way Home, the third installment of director Jon Watts' Spider-Man trilogy fronted by Holland, hit theaters Friday (Dec. 17) and secured the second-most lucrative opening weekend in film history.
