Becky Lynch on Ronda Rousey: ‘I Mean This With Respect, But She Couldn’t Wrestle’
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

WWE star Becky Lynch was a guest on The MMA Hour earlier today to promote her new book “ Becky Lynch ‘The Man’: Not Your Average Average Girl .’ While on the show, the subject of former WWE star and MMA legend Ronda Rousey came up. Rousey had a lukewarm run with the WWE and could never connect with the fans or gain backstage support due to her inability to work smoothly in the ring.

Lynch didn’t hold back as she worked with Rousey during the former MMA champion’s run in WWE. “I mean this with respect, but she couldn’t wrestle. Like, what we do isn’t just something that you can have one good match and then, okay, yeah, I’m off to races. It’s a craft and you have to learn your craft. And you have to be diligent about learning your craft. But everybody treated Ronda like she already knew it because when she first came in, she was good in that first bout,” said Lynch.

Rousey would take some time away from the WWE as she wanted to conceive and work on her personal life. Most recently, Rousey appeared at a Ring of Honor show in L.A., which was the first time she had appeared in a major promotion since taking some time away from the WWE. Rousey has also said some things recently about her time with the WWE. It is detailed in her new book “Inside the Ropes,” which will be released on April 4.

While Lynch and Rousey are both out promoting their respective books, that almost always leads to some eye-catching quotes, which they hope will turn into sales for the book they are promoting. This is all publicity that will help build the mega event next week called WrestleMania.
