Masvidal Wants Mayweather And Pacquiao After Boxing Diaz

Jorge Masvidal wants to box three more names if he gets past Nate Diaz on June 1. 

Gamebread makes his boxing debut in a rematch of their UFC 244 clash in 2019. Masvidal won that bout, claiming the inaugural BMF belt. The New York State Athletic Commission stopped the fight in the third round following a cut over Diaz’s eye. 

Masvidal’s last fight, however, was a defeat to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, taking his UFC record to four consecutive losses. Diaz has one boxing fight under his belt, losing to Jake Paul last August. While he did suffer a unanimous decision loss, Diaz got off the canvas to make it to the final bell. Following Masvidal and Diaz’s Miami presser tour, Gamebread was asked about who he wanted to box post-Diaz. 

Masvidal’s Future

“I wouldn’t mind taking on Logan Paul and rearranging his face. He’s a hell of a fighter in boxing for being an influencer. He did some good things against [Floyd] Mayweather. But I think I can end that dude, I think I can fight Logan. [Maybe] on Mayweather. [I want Manny] Pacquiao down the road,” Masvidal said

Gamebread also did not rule out a return to the UFC. He had spoken about facing Justin Gaethje, the former BMF Champion. However, following his loss to Max Holloway at UFC 300, that fight may be out of the question. But Masvidal is still desperate to make a UFC return, knowing he left on a poor run of form. 

“There are other guys I want to fight, and I’m definitely coming back to the UFC and getting a W for my city. For my family, my kids, and everybody that believes in me. I have to go back to the UFC,” Masvidal added

Diaz vs Masvidal

But before any of that can happen, Masvidal must get past Diaz. The duo held their press tour in Las Vegas. The press dates have disrupted the coverage of the fight. Their first presser was during the fight week of UFC 300.

Their final presser in Vegas coincided with the fight week for Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia. The two boxers face off on April 20 for the WBC Junior Welterweight boxing bout. While that may have been the case, Diaz was looking to make some headlines in his own way. 

Diaz was not hanging around, expressing his frustration at the media build-up. He clarified that he was not interested in doing the press obligations. Nate stood up, told the crowd he was leaving, saying there would be no face-off, leaving a chorus of boos.
