On Sunday, the Cleveland Guardians completed an important series win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Behind Amed Rosario and Austin Hedges, the Guardians busted out for seven runs, making a winner out of staff ace Shane Bieber, who went seven innings and allowed just two runs on eight hits while striking out six.

The Guardians got to Kevin Gausman early, touching him for five runs and knocking him out of the contest in the fifth inning.

Cleveland is red-hot and with their win, they extended their lead in the AL Central to 2.5 games and come home today to play a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers.

In his postgame interview, Hedges had an important message for Guardians fans.

“We Need Loud”

You heard him, Guardians fans.

The Guardians are red-hot and continue to surprise many naysayers.

With another Twins loss, the Guardians continued to take advantage of their division rival’s struggles.

A series win in Toronto was huge.

Now it’s back to Cleveland for a four-game set with the Tigers.

Hedges is certainly pumped up, as are the rest of the Guardians after obtaining first place.

Now, it’s up to Guardians fans to come out and fill Progressive Field for the rest of the stretch run.

You can bet that the fans in Cleveland are excited after this important series win.

But as Hedges alluded to, the Guardians will “need loud” today in their doubleheader.

Cleveland will send Aaron Civale to the mound for the first game of the doubleheader, which starts at 3:10 p.m. Eastern Time.

First place is on the line.

We’ll see if Guardians fans listened to Hedges’ request yesterday and end up filling the stands today.
