Jose Canseco has challenged Aaron Judge to a hitting contest

Jose Canseco was one of the best power hitters in baseball from 1986 to 1999. Sure, he had some help, but that was an unfortunate reality of baseball during that era.

He certainly wasn't alone, which leveled the playing field a bit. Also, in an era of elite sluggers, Canseco was considered one of the best.

Speaking of elite sluggers, Canseco recently took to Twitter to call out this era's home run masher: Aaron Judge.

"Aaron Judge I am getting ready for you let's see if you can hit a baseball as far as I can hit a softball," Canseco wrote on Twitter. "I doubt that very much let me know when you're ready we'll do the competition for charity."

Judging a softball off the bat of a 58-year-old compared to a baseball off the bat of a 30-year-old who just smashed 62 over the fences in route to the 2022 American League MVP award is a lot like comparing apples an oranges, but again, Canseco was known to hit a few dingers in his time.

The highest amount of home runs Canseco hit in a season was 46 when he was with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1998.

Canseco did also win an American League MVP award of his own in 1988 when he was a young slugger with the Oakland A's.

He retired after the 2001 season with 462 home runs to his name. In seven seasons, all with the New York Yankees, Judge has already hit 220.
