The Chicago White Sox have officially announced the addition of pitcher Mike Clevinger to the roster from Triple-A Charlotte as they gear up for Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. This move comes as the Sox look to build on their recent momentum following a successful road series in St. Louis.

After inking a one-year, $3 million deal in early April following a free agency stint, Clevinger is eager to reclaim his form from last season, where he boasted a 3.77 ERA over 24 starts with a 9-9 record. In two starts for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights this season, Clevinger struck out seven batters over 7.1 innings of work.

In a corresponding move, the White Sox have placed right-hander reliever Dominic Leone on the 15-day injured list with lower back tightness. Leone, who has struggled with an ERA of 6.75 over 17 appearances this season, exited a recent game against the Cardinals with the ailment, making room for Clevinger's addition to the roster.
