It's a hump day home run party over here in HR prop land. Let's gun for some juicy payouts with my three favorite players to hit a homer on Wednesday night's MLB slate.
Billy McKinney hasn't been seeing the ball well over the last month, but I think the lefty has a good chance to break out of his slump Wednesday night. The outfielder has faced Chicago White Sox starter Mike Clevinger nine times in his career, and his only two hits against the right-hander were home runs. Also, the wind will be blowing out at Guaranteed Rate Field, creating a projected 29 percent boost to homers (Ballpark Pal).
Jordan Lyles is the perfect pitcher to fade in home run props. The Kansas City Royals starter has given up 23 dingers this season, which is the 11th-highest mark in MLB. Rafael Devers is batting .353 with a home run and three doubles against Lyles in his career, and the wind will be blowing out to right field at Fenway Park Wednesday night.
Mookie Betts is swinging one of the hottest bats in the majors right now. The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder is currently riding a 15-game hitting streak, and he's cracked four home runs in his last eight starts. In 27 career at-bats against Arizona Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly, Betts has just seven hits, but three of them were homers. We'll ride the hot bat against a pitcher Betts clearly loves facing.
