Watch: Padres' Manny Machado makes incredible juggling catch to help preserve lead

It has been nine years since San Diego Padres infielder Manny Machado won a Gold Glove, but plays like the one he made Saturday afternoon are a big reason why he is a two-time winner of the award.

With the Padres protecting a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Colorado Rockies, pinch-hitter Mike Moustakas hit a pop-up foul ball down the left field line. Machado not only showed incredible range to run it down, but also managed to make a juggling catch after the bobbling the ball two times and falling to the ground.

Have a look.

The good news for the Padres is the runner on third also did not manage to tag up on the play to tie the game, preserving the lead.

San Diego went on to win the game, 3-2, to improve its record to 31-33.

Along with the great play with the glove, Machado also had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Saturday's win was the Padres' third consecutive and fourth in the past five games as they try to dig their way out after a disappointing start. They entered the season as a World Series contender in the National League, but have not yet played like it. Maybe they are starting to get back to that level.
