As far as Brendan Schaub is concerned, the undisputed UFC featherweight title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez is a mismatch.

Volkanovski and Rodriguez will share the Octagon inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 8. Rodriguez earned this opportunity after capturing the interim 145-pound gold Josh Emmett back in February.

During a recent edition of "The Schaub Show," former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub gave his brutally honest take on Rodriguez's chances against Volkanovski.

"I think nine times out of 10, Volkanovski beats the s*** out of Yair Rodriguez, hate to tell you guys," Schaub said. "Yair does have that arsenal where the kick, his weird transitions, submissions, he has that weird X-factor that you can't really train for. So, that could catch a guy like Volkanovski."

With that said, Schaub doesn't see Rodriguez pulling off that spectacular finish to shock the world at UFC 290.

"The odds are very low and that would be the only way he wins," Schaub said. "He can't go toe-to-toe for five rounds and beat him. If it goes decision it's a landslide win for Volkanovski. I think the first round or two there's gonna be a lot of feeling out with kicks. Volkanovski covers ground better than anybody in the UFC. So, the height's not a big deal. I think's it's gonna be a long night in the office for Yair Rodriguez, super long night."
