After a long campaign, UFC lightweight veteran Jim Miller will finally fight at UFC 300. However, two things still do not make it to the mark for the long-term record-holder. Firstly, he won’t get his custom walkout announcement at UFC 300. Secondly, HOF Daniel Cormier still doesn’t consider him Hall-of-Fame worthy. On the other hand, Michael Bisping disagrees.

After his 23-second knockout of Jesse Butler at UFC on ESPN 45, Cormier labeled him not HOF-worthy. Miller then found himself in an intense battle with 155-pound peer Gabriel Benitez at UFC Fight Night 234. With yet another win, he has notched five wins in his past six fights. This marks the record for most fights and wins in company history. The longevity and ability to do it at the highest level made Bisping honor Miller.

Fighting on the UFC 100, 200... 300... you know the way this is going, Jim's going to be fighting at UFC 400 as well...so yeah, I think the longevity...the success that he had throughout that is just phenomenal...the determination, you know, how he's been able to do that to his body for so long... it's not an easy thing to do. That alone needs to be respected. Michael Bisping via MMAFighting on SBN

At the behest of host Damon Martin, Bisping sounded off, saying that some people fade out even after some MMA outings. On the other hand, Jim Miller has notched up a neat 37-17 MMA record and 26-16 in the UFC record. The fighter has reached such zeniths of the game that he can be an aspirant and call Bruce Buffer to announce him as  ‘Jim F**KING Miller at UFC 300.

Daniel Cormier, a Hall-of-Famer himself, doubles down on the fact that time spent is not equal to time earned. While he respects Miller, he does not consider that to translate to HOF mettle. Consequently, Miller hasn’t taken kindly to the matter. However, most of the MMA community and fighters disagree with Cormier’s opinion.

Jim Miller fires back at Daniel Cormier for snubbing his UFC Hall of Fame worthiness

Daniel Cormier isn’t sold on Jim Miller’s UFC Hall of Fame worthiness; Jim Miller isn’t sold on his opinions. Cormier, a former two-division titleholder and Olympic wrestler, puts viable stock behind his valuable opinion. Miller is, however, entitled to his thoughts. After all, he is to become the only fighter on the active roster to have fought in all major milestone events – UFC 100, 200, and now UFC 300.

Miller holds such gravitas even today that many fighters gladly accept his callouts for bouts. Consensus KO artist Matt Brown is one of them, who boasts the most knockouts in UFC welterweight division history. Despite the reverence Miller commands in the combat sports culture, ‘DC’ thinks otherwise. He believed Miller did not have a title run, nor did he ever challenge for the title. As such, he did not think Miller should enter the Hall of Fame.

Even without a title run, Jim Miller has many unattainable feats, such as notable appearances and wins. He is but two finishes shy of Charles Oliveira‘s record of 19 finish wins. Hence, he fired back at Cormier.

DC had 15 UFC fights and in his 15 UFC fights – granted he ended up getting the UFC title... and stuff like that and double champ. In my first 15 fights we had the same exact record, 11-3 and one no contest. So, like, I'm still here, I'm still performing, you know, I'm still a dangerous guy, tripling, yeah, you know, the champ-champ, right? Like tripling his time in the octagon. Miller even dissed that he has advanced to his equivalent of his 3rd-Cormier-Run. Miler will soon turn 41, and from how he fought in his last two fights, he has another few fights left. Miller’s records remain unbreakable at the moment. As such, he has a legitimate case to enter the Hall of Fame.
