Denny Hamlin brands NASCAR nation as 'naturally complainers'
Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin is known for his bold opinion and the racer has never hold back when it comes to issues around the sport regardless of whoever is in the receiving end. A recent example of this was the public beef he had with Speedway Motorsports Inc.’s Marcus Smith, which was a massive PR disaster for the sport.

Now Hamlin had made another bold statement, this time targeting the whole NASCAR community including the fans and drivers. He pointed out that everyone in the sport are naturally complainers. Denny Hamlin added that everyone including himself often complain about things around the series before and after the races.

I think we’re just naturally complainers. I mean, that’s that’s what we do. It’s most of the time, if you look on Twitter, that’s what most people do, is complain, and I do it as well. Right? It’s because you want — now, everyone has the reason for complaining. Denny Hamlin said via Action Detrimental.

Hamlin pointed out that fans favourite driver not winning, poor results for the driver and photo finishes are some things the fans and drivers complains about. The three times Daytona 500 winner does have a point, as NASCAR is a sport that evolved over the years by solving the complaints that came from all directions.

Denny Hamlin overlooks this nature as just natural instincts

While talking further on the topic, Hamlin pointed out that picking issues on things are just human instincts and it isn’t just an issue with only NASCAR. He added that the complaints are often about the things they want to be better in the sport.

So that’s, it’s just what we got for right now, and we can complain, and we will continue to complain on here about things that we feel like need to be better, but that’s just humans natural instinct, is to want to pick apart something, because it’s not perfect. Denny Hamlin said.

While it does go beyond the limit sometimes, the complaints coming from such a passionate fans NASCAR has plays a significant role in how the sport has developed over the years. Constructive criticism from fans and driver should continue to make racing a better product for everyone involved.
