Cavs Signing Marcus Morris To 10-Day Deal
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Cavaliers are signing veteran forward Marcus Morris to a 10-day contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley was actually the first to report that Morris would sign on Cleveland.

Morris was waived by the San Antonio Spurs at the end of last month.

The Philadelphia 76ers traded Morris to the Spurs as part of the three-team deal that sent Buddy Hield  from the Indiana Pacers to the Sixers and  Doug McDermott from the Spurs to the Pacers. San Antonio was always expected to part ways with Morris since the franchise is in rebuild mode.

Morris is averaging 6.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists this season while shooting 43.9% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 86.1% from the free-throw line. He appeared in 37 games with the Sixers before getting traded.

A Philadelphia native, Morris has career averages of 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists with the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Sixers. He’s represented by Chafie Fields of Wasserman.
