Cedi Osman Off To A Strong Start With The Cavaliers
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers have high expectations for themselves in the 2022-23 NBA season.

After acquiring Donovan Mitchell in the offseason, this Cavs team showed they were ready to go all-in.

Pairing Mitchell with Darius Garland gives the Cavs one of the better guard duos in the East.

Other than Mitchell and Garland, Cleveland has plenty of other talented players who should contribute.

One player that is emerging is Cedi Osman.

Osman has been with Cleveland since 2017 and looks to have taken a step forward this season.

Through two games, Osman is averaging 16.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

For his career, he is a 10.0 point-per-game scorer but is looking to be more aggressive this year.

He will be a valuable piece for the Cavaliers coming off the bench.

Also, with Garland sidelined by an eye injury suffered in the first game, another scorer needs to step up.

Stepping Up When Needed

Osman is playing 26.5 minutes per game, yet still, is the second-leading scorer on the Cavs to start the year.

His impact on the court is being felt, with a team-leading plus/minus of +51.

Osman will continue to be a valuable asset on the bench for the Cavs as they look for some type of scoring from the second unit.

Cleveland believed in Osman three years ago when they signed him to a four-year contract extension.

Now he is starting to pay dividends.

Watch out for the Cavaliers when they are fully healthy.

Mitchell, Garland, and Jarrett Allen were All-Stars last season, and having quality role players around them will be key.
