Dallas Mavericks Legend Dirk Nowitzki Hilariously Reveals Why He’s ‘So Mad’ at Luka Doncic
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

When people think of the Dallas Mavericks, they either remember Dirk Nowitzki’s legendary run or Luka Doncic’s current dominance in the league right now. But as it stands, the former is mad at the Slovenian All-Star for a reason that’ll surprise the franchise’s fans.

Nowitzki first entered the NBA as the Mavs’ ninth pick in the 1998 Draft. From there, the German star played 20 seasons for Dallas with averages of 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. He also shot 47 percent from the field, 38 percent from beyond the arc, and 87 percent from the free throw line.

Within that 20-year period, Nowitzki received a number of accolades while playing for the Mavericks. Some of these include winning MVP in 2007, being named Finals MVP in 2011, and becoming a champion that same year. He was also named to 14 All-Star Games and 12 All-NBA Teams.

Apart from those accomplishments, Nowitzki also holds several of the Mavericks’ records during his 20-year run with the team. These include playing the most games, field goals, three-point shots made, free throws, rebounds, and free throws, among others.

Dallas Mavericks Legend Dirk Nowitzki Revealed Reason Why He’s Mad at Luka Doncic

While Nowitzki is established as the greatest players to ever suit up for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is already catching up with the German star. As a result, the one-time NBA champion said he’s mad at the Slovenian guard for a reason not many fans expected, as seen in a video posted by NBA on ESPN on YouTube:

In that interview with Kevin Hart, Nowitzki hilariously claimed that Doncic is breaking all his records. This season alone, the Dallas’ All-Star guard has led the franchise in triple-doubles, and is inching toward scoring more points than the Mavericks legend if he continues his dominant run this season.

Even though Doncic has a strong chance to break most of Nowitzki’s records, the Mavericks legends will still remain a well-loved personality within the franchise. Nevertheless, it’s all love between the two stars, as seen in the former NBA star’s interview with Hart.
