A former Los Angeles Lakers player during the Kobe Bryant era has died.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Saturday that ex-Lakers guard Darius Morris has died at the age of 33. No details were given on the cause of death for Morris.

The University of Michigan, where Morris attended college, also confirmed the news of his death with a tribute post.

Morris was Michigan’s leading scorer during the 2010-11 season, also setting a then-Wolverines record that year for most assists in a single season (235). He was picked in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Lakers (No. 41 overall) and spent two seasons with them. Morris even made a couple of playoff starts for the Lakers during the 2013 postseason.

Later on in his career, Morris also played for the Philadelphia 76ers, L.A. Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets. He spent four total seasons in the NBA, averaging 3.3 points per game before playing out the rest of his career overseas in China, Russia and France.
