Golden State Warriors: Brandin Podziemski Voices Out Heartwarming Support For 1 Dubs’ Rising Weapon
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors are not waiting for their rookies to ripen up. They are giving them ample time to develop right away in the pros, with both Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis getting significant minutes on the floor. On Monday night, Jackson-Davis shined anew for the Dubs, as he helped his team eke out a 112-102 road win over Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

Brandin Podziemski Praises Fellow Golden State Warriors Rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis After Win Against The Spurs

After the game, Podziemski voiced out his true feelings about seeing his fellow rookie come up with another solid game that was capped by a thundering facial dunk on Wembanyana late in the fourth quarter.

“I was very excited, especially, you know, my fellow rookie, doing a lot of stuff with him, like off the court and stuff like that,” Podziemski told reporters during the postgame press conference.

“So to see him succeed and shine, you know, it’s a joy for me. But just the momentum shift be kind of after he dunked that, the game’s kind of over, sucked the life out of the building.”

Davis,  who was selected in the second round (27th overall) of the 2023 NBA Draft, came off the bench versus the Spurs and posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. The former Indiana Hoosiers star added five assists and shot 6/7 from the field in 26 minutes of action. Over the last five games, Jackson-Davis has averaged 11.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks in 21.7 minutes per outing.

As for Podziemski, he had 14 points, eight boards, and four assists with three 3-pointers in 35 minutes, also off the bench, for the Warriors, who improved to 34-30.

The win over the Spurs was sweet revenge for the Golden State Warriors, who lost to San Antonio last Saturday at home, 126-113. It also prevented the Warriors from losing three games in a row and kept them from falling further behind the Los Angeles Lakers, who are ninth in the standings in the Western Conference. The Warriors are five games above the cut-off line for the Play-in Tournament, but they can’t relax just yet, with several games left to play.

After beating the Spurs, the Warriors will continue their road trip to Dallas where they will face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
