Golden State Warriors Make Major Lineup Change vs. Spurs
© Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

In must-win mode between now and the end of the regular season, the Golden State Warriors understand that every game is crucial. Head coach Steve Kerr understands this as well, and is making a major starting lineup change for Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

With Steph Curry out, the Warriors will start Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green. Both Thompson and Wiggins have been coming off the bench, but will re-enter the starting lineup for this crucial game.

Thompson has been coming off the bench since mid-February, but has had some spot starts. Wiggins has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, but has spent most of his time with that first unit. After coming off the bench in Golden State's loss to the Spurs, Wiggins is back in the starting lineup for the rematch.

This is a game the Warriors must win, as they cannot afford any more slippage in the standings. While falling out of the 10th seed is very unlikely, the Warriors want to climb up from that spot if possible. Having gone back and forth between 9th and 10th for weeks, the Warriors currently sit 1.5 games back of the 9th seed Los Angeles Lakers, who have countered Golden State's recent struggles with some impressive wins.
