Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson Upgraded To Questionable
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s road game against the Toronto Raptors.

Robinson, of course, has been out since Dec. 8 and recovering from ankle surgery. At one point, the Knicks weren’t sure that he’d return this season. Now, there seems to be little doubt that he will.

Robinson, 25, is 7-foot-0 and is averaging 6.2 points and 10.3 rebounds in 21 games. He is also the team’s top shot-blocking presence.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported last week that Robinson was nearing a return.

“Mitchell Robinson should be back before the end of the month…They’re only gonna get better as long as they can get healthy,” Windhorst said on NBA Today.

The Knicks drafted Robinson with the 36th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Western Kentucky. The big man has career averages of 8.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.9 blocks.

The Knicks (43-28) sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. If the regular season ended today, New York would face the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
