Milwaukee Bucks trade away Robin Lopez to clear up a roster spot

The Milwaukee Bucks made no explosive trades this time, settling for more subtle ones at the deadline. One was acquiring defensive-minded guard Patrick Beverley from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for backup point guard Cam Payne, and the other trading reserve center Robin Lopez to the Sacramento Kings.

Took it in stride

The 35-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Bucks in the offseason, reuniting him with twin brother Brook. As third-string centers go, Robin played only 16 games this season, averaging 1.1 points per game. However, he started two games last week with Brook sidelined for personal reasons.

Now playing in his 16th season in the NBA, Robin knows how commonplace trades are and responded to the development in his typical lighthearted manner.

According to ESPN, Robin is not expected to suit up for the Kings and would be waived. Apprised of this, Robin also posted:

The team is in the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings and has its sights set on a championship title.
