Report: Warriors won't trade Klay Thompson, Draymond Green

It appears Golden State's famed Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green -- the winningest trio in NBA Finals history -- won’t be splitting up just yet.

Contrary to earlier reports that the Warriors were open to moving "everyone but Curry" ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline, a new report from Brian Windhorst of ESPN suggests that the Warriors "have no interest" in trading Green or Thompson -- two future Hall of Famers who've never entered an NBA season without Curry as their teammate.

Speaking on "SportsCenter" Wednesday morning, Windhorst noted that the Warriors remain open to the idea of moving either Chris Paul or Andrew Wiggins, but plan to ride out the season with the three players who helped them capture four NBA Championships.

Earlier, Anthony Slater of The Athletic also ruled out the possibility of the Warriors shipping out Thomspon or Green, noting that Wiggins or Paul were far more likely to be moved by next week. However, Slater did suggest the likelihood of Thomspon -- an unrestricted free agent this summer -- departing from the Bay Area squad if "an offer tempts him and the Warriors go cold."

Slater added that rising star Jonathan Kuminga -- on the back of his recent play -- has a ton of value around the league, with several teams coveting the 21-year-old forward. However, the Warriors have essentially placed the third-year player on the list of untouchables. The Warriors also have very little interest in parting with Moses Moody or future first-round picks, of which they have very few.

Although the 12th-seeded Warriors (20-24) remain in a murky situation, they are just a few games behind the Lakers (24-25) for the ninth seed and still have time to turn their season around. According to Slater, the Warriors feel optimistic about Steve Kerr's new starting five of Green, Thompson, Curry, Wiggins and Kuminga, which is why they're reluctant to make any drastic moves.

Furthermore, the Warriors have very little incentive to enter the proverbial "tank mode" since their first-round pick would be surrendered to Portland unless they land in the top 4 in the lottery.
