Arizona Cardinals release S Sean Chandler & CB Nate Hairston
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Joining Colt McCoy in the departure from the Arizona Cardinals are S Sean Chandler and CB Nate Hairston. These releases are part of the team’s efforts to trim their roster to 53 players by August 29th, 4 PM E.T.

The Cardinals signed Sean Chandler less than 10 days ago. Last season, Chandler predominantly contributed on special teams, playing in over 50% of the special teams snaps in every single game.

However, due to a breach of the NFL’s PED rules, Chandler found himself mandated to sit out the initial two games of the 2023 season. This suspension potentially contributed to his subsequent release from the team.

On the other hand, Nate Hairston was signed onto the Cardinals practice squad last September. Hairston then bounced back from the practice squad and the Cardinals active roster.

In total, the 29-year-old only saw playing time in two games before heading to the IR for the remainder of the season.

Stay tuned for further updates as the Cardinals continue to slim down their roster over the next 24 hours.
