Bill Simmons thinks Tom Brady could play for 49ers, Dolphins
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Bill Simmons simply will not give up on the idea that Tom Brady may stage an NFL comeback. Simmons even has two teams in mind that he thinks Brady would be interested in playing for.

On his most recent edition of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Simmons predicted that either the San Francisco 49ers or Miami Dolphins would bring Brady out of retirement. Simmons named the 49ers as “60-40” favorites if he had to make a prediction, but he had a particularly wild prediction for what the Dolphins might try to do.

“Steve Ross, as a way to throw people off the scent of all the crazy s–t that happened with him the last thing, says, ‘I’m selling a minority share to Tom Brady that, in five years, the majority will kick in, but it’s going to be a transition.’ I think it’s either that, or I think he goes to the Niners for one year,” Simmons said.

Simmons doesn’t seem to have any real inside information, but his belief that Brady isn’t really retired has been consistent. For what it’s worth, Brady himself does not sound like someone who is thinking that way, but that will not quiet the speculation.
