Bills’ Micah Hyde Doesn’t Hold Back On Rasul Douglas
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Back in late October, the Buffalo Bills acquired cornerback Rasul Douglas in a deadline trade with the Green Bay Packers, and looking back two months later, fellow Bills defensive back Micah Hyde doesn’t think there is any debate on who get the better end of the deal.

“I don’t know what we gave up to get him, but we won the trade,” Hyde said, via Dan Fetes of ABC 13 WHAM. To be precise, the Bills sent a third-round draft pick to the Packers in the deal.

Hyde’s comments came after Douglas registered two interceptions—one of which was a huge pick-six—during Buffalo’s pivotal Week 17 win over the New England Patriots.

In eight games since coming over in the trade, Douglas has logged 29 tackles, four interceptions, a couple of fumble recoveries and eight passes defended. He has accumulated 61 tackles, five picks, three fumble recoveries and 14 passes defended on the season overall.

But Douglas actually feels he should have registered three interceptions against the Patriots.

“That should have been another pick by me,” Douglas said of a pick hauled in by Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver, via the team’s official YouTube account. “I should have had three, honestly, ’cause I knew it was coming. I read it, but I was on the right side of the tight end and he kind of threw it to the left. So, I had to go around him and deflect it up and then I seen Ed diving for it, I was just happy that he caught it.”

Whatever the case may be, Rasul Douglas obviously made a huge impact in the victory over New England and has been a major addition to a Buffalo secondary that sorely needed it following a season-ending injury to cornerback Tre’Davious White.

The Bills improved to 10-6 with their Week 17 triumph and have now won four games in a row. They currently hold the second Wild Card spot in the AFC and will battle the Miami Dolphins for AFC East supremacy next weekend. The winner of the game captures the division title.

However, if Buffalo loses to the Dolphins in South Beach, it could find itself out of the playoffs entirely depending on what some other AFC teams do in Week 18.
