Bills offense just became more dangerous with addition of Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has a new weapon in his arsenal after the team selected Utah TE Dalton Kincaid in first round Thursday night. The Bills thought highly enough of Kincaid to trade up to pick No. 25 to draft him, and the move could pay immediate dividends. 

Bills GM Brandon Beane called Kincaid a "pure receiver" and something the Bills "don't have," according to the Buffalo News.  

Kincaid will likely play in the slot plenty for Buffalo. The Bills already have a Pro Bowl tight end in Dawson Knox, and they're sure play in two-tight end sets much more after doing so just 4.1% of the time in 2022, the lowest rate in the NFL.

Kincaid is a tight end by name, but where he'll make an immediate impact is as a receiver. Per Cover 1, 74.5% of Kincaid's receptions from the slot were converted into first downs or touchdowns. 

The 6-foot-4, 246-pound Kincaid led Utah in receptions (70), receiving yards (890) and receiving touchdowns (eight). His 890 receiving yards ranked first in the entire nation at TE. 

NFL Network analyst and Hall of Fame QB Kurt Warner believes the Bills "got a guy in the Travis Kelce mold" and "can work the middle of the field for a guy like Josh Allen." 

Kincaid has shown he can take a game over like Kelce and single-handedly dominate a defense. In Utah's 43-42 upset win over No. 7 USC, Kincaid had 16 receptions on 16 targets for 234 yards and two touchdowns.
