Bills RB Latavius Murray Calls 'Players Only' Meeting

For the Buffalo Bills, it's by no means the end of the world as they sit at 5-4 headed into Monday's meeting with the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium. Many other teams under .500 would give anything to have a few games back and be in the position the Bills find themselves in for Week 10.

But considering the expectations the team had entering the year, it's now or never for Buffalo to find some consistency

Bills running back Latavius Murray, who is the oldest player in the NFL at age 33, clearly recognizes the urgency that this point in the season brings. He revealed to reporters on Thursday that he initiated a players only meeting for the Buffalo offense in order to make sure everyone's on the same page.

"Something I initiated ... talked about some things and see how us, as an offense, can make a difference," Murray said, per 13WHAM Rochester. " ... We can play and beat anybody. A lot of times, It's getting redundant but it's us beating ourselves. So how can we avoid that?"

This season, Murray has rushed 42 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns. He's also added 11 catches for 79 yards.

Neither he or starting running back James Cook have been able to get things going in recent weeks in a rushing offense that's been middle of the pack this season.

But his lack of production is hardly the reason for Murray being proactive. Looking for his first Super Bowl ring, he called the meeting for no other reason than the want to win.

"Those guys know I'm coming from a sincere place of us just trying to communicate, trying to figure out what we can do to be better, what we can control as players," Murray said.

The Bills offense will be hoping this meeting pays dividends when they host the Broncos on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
