Browns TE David Njoku is excited to watch this 'exceptional' player

The Browns added a few new pieces to QB Deshaun Watson's arsenal this offseason, but TE David Njoku is especially excited to see what one player can do this season.

"Elijah [Moore] is exceptional. He plays very passionately. He wears his emotions on his sleeve," Njoku told reporters. "I'm so hyped to see him progress, see him compete, see him have a lot of fun."

Cleveland traded its 2023 second-round pick (No. 42) to the Jets for Moore in March and view him as a threat "all over the field."

The 23-year-old has just 80 catches for 984 yards and six touchdowns through his first two seasons but has shown flashes of why he was selected 34th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Over the past two years, Moore has just two drops and has shown his ability to make people miss after the catch with 16 broken tackles.

The case for Moore finally breaking out in 2023 becomes stronger when you consider the carousel of quarterbacks he played with in New York. From 2021-22, he was catching passes from Zach Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco and Josh Johnson — all of whom are currently backups or free agents.

Now with a clear QB1 in Watson, Moore is set up for his best season yet. He is also entering the third year of his rookie contract, which is when most players tend to make their biggest leaps. So, it feels like it's now or never for Moore.
