Chargers Eyeing Reunion With Former Pro-Bowl Linebacker

As the Los Angeles Chargers continue to work through their offseason, they could be bringing back a former fan favorite. Veteran linebacker Denzel Perryman and the Bolts have discussed a reunion to bring him back.

Perryman played six seasons with the Chargers after the Bolts selected him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Los Angeles has a need at the linebacker spot, so bringing Perryman back makes a lot of sense.

After leaving the Bolts, Perryman went to the Carolina Panthers. He was then traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2021. The veteran racked up 154 combined tackles in 15 games for Las Vegas.

Perryman signed with the Houston Texans last season, where he posted 76 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 12 games. He could be a nice piece to this Chargers defense and the fans would love to see him return.

He could bring some extra veteran presence to this defense and give them more to work with. Los Angeles lost a few linebackers in free agency after Kenneth Murray signed with the Tennesee Titans and the team released Eric Kendricks.

Bringing Perryman back won't solve all the Bolts' problems, but it's a start. Hopefully, the two sides can agree on a deal that brings him back to the place that he first called home in the NFL.
