Chiefs acquire three-time Pro Bowler Melvin Ingram from Steelers

The Kansas City Chiefs got back on track with a win on "Monday Night Football" in Week 8. The very next day, the team reportedly reeled in one of the most notable names on the trade block.

Per ESPN's Dianna Russini, the Chiefs have acquired edge rusher Melvin Ingram in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick.

The 2021 NFL trade deadline is 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Ingram is in just his first season with Pittsburgh after playing nine years with the now-Los Angeles Chargers. Ingram signed a one-year contract with the Steelers in July.

Ingram, who earned Pro Bowl honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019, started just one of his six games with the Steelers and made 10 tackles while recording six quarterback hits and one sack. Since playing every snap in Week 3, his playing time has fluctuated as of late.

He played on 49% of the snaps in Week 4, 60% in Week 5 and 26% in Week 6.
