Colts Owner Shoots down Speculation on Potential Drug Overdose

Jim Irsay (owner of the Colts), was found unresponsive at his home last December.

TMZ later reported that the incident in question was issued as "overdose" and "overdose/poisoning." The organization put out a statement to fans stating that he's "receiving excellent care and looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible."

He later discussed this situation with FOX59 and stated the following:

“It wasn’t an overdose," Irsay said. "I don’t know why when you have your name in the paper in the past, people throw that out there quickly. I don’t pay attention to it all that much, but I don’t think it’s fair.’’

Irsay did reference a previous leg injury that worsened as being responsible for the medical event.

"Contradicting the official police incident report — responders logged it as a possible overdose — Irsay said he was “treating a leg injury’’ that had developed a serious hematoma."

Isray - who is currently recovering from this injury - will not be in the Colts' war room for the NFL Draft beginning Thursday, April 25.
