Could Rams Sign Veteran Cornerback White if Cut By Bills?
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

One of the weaker position groups for the Los Angeles Rams is cornerback, as the team was in the bottom half of the league this past season in defending the pass.

The team would benefit if they used the free agency market or players that are cut by their teams ahead of the season to fill the holes that they have.

Now, according to the Athletic , one of the players who could potentially be dropped by his team that could help the Rams is Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White.

"The first draft pick of the Sean McDermott era, White is now 29 and coming off two major injuries in three seasons — a torn ACL in 2021 and a torn Achilles in 2023," the Athletic wrote. "Cutting him would clear just over $6 million in cap space, but the situation could go either way and is more complex than just saving cap room.

White is 29 years old and is coming off of an Achilles injury that he suffered in Week 4 that made him miss the rest of last season. The Bills might be close to cutting him, as he is aging and has been on and off their injury list for some time now.

Even though he has suffered from injuries as of late, when he is on the field, White has been one of the better cornerbacks in the league. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and made the AP All-Pro First Team in 2019.

If he can get back on the field and stay healthy, he might be a player that the Rams should consider going after. He would provide a veteran presence for the rest of the young secondary that the Rams have, and he could make everyone around him better.

Whether the Rams decide to pick up a corner in free agency or after they have been cut by their previous team, addressing the position could be one of the keys to the team contending next season.
