Dawand Jones might go down as one of the best offensive linemen to ever come out of the Ohio State Buckeyes program.

The former Buckeye and current Cleveland Browns tackle was named to the 2023 Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA)'s all-rookie team on Wednesday, closing out a fantastic opening year in the NFL.

Jones was under almost everyone's radar following the 2023 NFL Draft, especially when compared to some of the other picks made by the Browns. This is not to say Jones wasn't expected to be an important part of the roster, but going in the fourth round was certainly lower than where many experts thought he would land.

Despite the seemingly low bar set for Jones, the Indianapolis, Indiana native immediately put his value on display. Jones was given a starting spot in the second week of the season following an injury to Jack Conklin.

Jones would go on to start ten games for the Browns, including that week 2 contest with the New York Jets before he too was bitten by the injury bug. Over this time, Jones recorded just two penalties and allowed 21 quarterback pressures in 712 snaps.

Both of those aforementioned numbers were ranked in the league's top 15, tying for No. 12 and No. 11 respectively.

Jones is primed to have another great season in the coming year. Easily one of the biggest players in the NFL (at his position or otherwise), Jones' name is no doubt well known around the defensive locker rooms of the league's other 31 teams.
