Details released for tight end Dalton Schultz's new contract with the Houston Texans

The Houston Texans recently signed tight end Dalton Schultz to a new deal. After signing him last season on a one-year prove-it deal, he proved it by having a career season.

The former Dallas Cowboys tight end is already winning fans over by calling out his former team for operating like a zoo, and now he will be able to make the fan base happy for a few more years to come.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Schultz signed a three-year, $36 million deal, which includes $23.5 million fully guaranteed with a $7.5 million signing bonus, according to NFL insider and Texans beat reporter Aaron Wilson.

Schultz has fully guaranteed base salaries of $5 million and $11 million, respectively, in 2024 and 2025. He is due an $11 million nonguaranteed base salary in 2026.

The veteran tight end was one of the best, if not the best, tight end in free agency. Last year, he was a vital and key weapon for C.J. Stroud, especially in the passing game and third downs. Being with the same team in the same system for two years straight could see Schultz increase production.
