Detroit Lions Get 'Good News' on Frank Ragnow, Alex Anzalone Could Return
© Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Detroit Lions have not been able to take full advantage of their offensive line.

Unfortunately, center Frank Ragnow suffered a knee injury against the New Orleans Saints and could not finish the game. After walking off the field with the aid of medical personnel, the talented offensive lineman was carted to the locker room.

After the game, head coach Dan Campbell expressed the team was more optimistic that Ragnow's injuy was not as serious as originally expected.

Addressing the media on Monday, Campbell updated the health status of one of the top centers in the NFL.

"We got good news, but that doesn't mean he's playing this week," said Campbell, when asked if he could provide an update on Ragnow's health status.

There is an opportunity this week for linebacker Alex Anzalone, who missed his first game of the season with a hand injury, to return against the Chicago Bears.

Alim McNeill is a 'little banged up' and there is a chance he may not suit up against Chicago on the road.

Great week of practice

Ahead of a tough road contest against the Saints, the Lions had one of their best week of practices.

“We bounced back. I’m not surprised, knowing the guys that we have and the coaches that are in that locker room," Campbell said. "The players that we have. I’m not surprised. I’m going to tell you, that’s some of the best practices we’ve had all year, what we had the last three days. It was competitive. It was intense. It was fiery. And, look, we can’t always do that. There are going to be times when we need to, it’s going to have to be a walkthrough. We got to start doing things a certain way. But it was good to see them come back and be ready for this game.”
